When you are using a heavy load like video encoding or 4k encoding, you need to plug it to an AC outlet to give the CPU, GPU a full juice of energy. I can stand an inch thickness and half a pound heavier total of five pounds or less for more room for the larger heat sink that way the CPU, RAM, GPU can breath easier and the performance will be much more improve. The only reason I gave it four stars is that when it is on a heavy use, it gets really hot and the fan is loud. I use it for both Mac and Windows operating systems, four cores i7, 16GB RAM, light and portable.
